Public Defender Honors Program
Do you believe in social justice?
What will you do to make it a reality?
"I was tremendously impressed by the three-week training program for members of the Honors Program. There was a world class faculty of lawyers from all over the country, but most impressive were the 24 recent law graduates who worked hard throughout the three weeks to develop their skills and become first rate public defenders."

The Georgia Public Defender Standards Council recognizes that in order to deliver on its promise to create the best statewide public defender system in the country, it must ensure that Georgia will attract and sustain the nation’s most committed and talented lawyers. To carry out its mission of providing Georgia with the best trained, most committed public defenders in the country, the Council created the Georgia Public Defender Honors Program. The Honors Program is a three-year program that will provide lawyers with the best training and support possible in exchange for their commitment to work as public defenders in circuits throughout Georgia.
